On March 13, 1919, the dreaded Axeman of New Orleans wrote a letter to the editor of the Times-Picayune, and informed the city that on the following Tuesday, he would "pass over New Orleans" but all those playing jazz music would be spared. "One thing is certain," he wrote, "and that is that some of your people who do not jazz it out on that specific Tuesday night (if there be any) will get the axe."
Tuesday, March 19, 2019 marks the 100 year anniversary of that date. To make sure that the spirit of the Axeman spares us, we will be jazzing it out all night here at Split-Rail. If you too want to be spared the axe, join us for a New Orleans-inspired dinner, drinks, and of course, jazz all night long. Your life may depend on it....
Stay sexy and play that jazz all night long!
